The article concludes that the claim is not supported by the data.

Research article discussing claims recently made by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation regarding the effectiveness of its enhanced alternative custody programs. The article concludes that CDCR's claims of effectiveness are not supported by the data. Simple comparison of the recidivism rates of two groups without random assignment or other controls is not valid due to likely selection bias.
